The Unity Walk for Parkinsons was first born in New York City, championed by the highly regarded, and prominent profile
living with Parkinsons, Mr Michael J Fox.

The Unity Walk first came to Sydney in 2008, then in 2009, Parkinsons Victoria hosted their inaugural Unity Walk at
Melbourne's iconic Federation Square. Each event has been held to raise awareness and funds in pursuit of a common
vision: to see a world without Parkinsons.

Perfect Events was first engaged by Parkinsons Victoria to adapt, refine and develop the Unity Walk for the Victorian
organization and community. The ground-up approach to event building included developing key event strategies, including
recruitment, communication, and sponsorship, right through to registrations and ticketing. 

The inaugural event attracted 1000 participants, to more than 2000 participants in 2010 to become the single largest
community event for Parkinsons Victoria. Each years' event has seen growth in  the financial and in-kind contributions from
sponsors, and has well exceeded fundraising expectations.

Event highlights included involvement of Parkinsons Victoria ambassador, Shane Jacobsen, of Kenny fame, along with celebrity
guests Wilbur Wilde, David Mann and John Blackman. The annual event has received enormous support from PV's support
groups, now becoming an established family day out.

The combined efforts of Parkinsons Victoria and Perfect Events is seeing that the Unity Walk is shaping up to be even more
